Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s):
My name is Nicholas Healy, and I am the McKinney-Vento Liaison for Granville Central School District. Due to the recent school closure as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we wanted to take this opportunity to reach out and support any of our families that may be experiencing a housing transition. If your family is currently struggling with a loss of housing due to economic hardship, your students may qualify for McKinney-Vento Services.
Families that qualify under the McKinney-Vento Act have the right to the following:
-
Stay in the same school district even if currently living outside of the district
-
Get help with school supplies
-
Get access to free meals
-
Get access to Chromebooks and internet
-
Get help preparing and applying to college
Please see the reverse side of this letter for more information on McKinney-Vento supports. If you feel there is a possibility that your family may qualify for McKinney-Vento services please contact me at (518) 642-1051 x3103 or by email at [email protected] to further discuss your situation.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Healy
