Budget Vote 2024 One of the propositions this year on our ballot is a Capital Project. For information on the project please visit our website. Have you ever wanted to be on the Board of Education? Give back to the community? Serve as a representative for that community? If the answer is yes, now is the time! The Granville School Board has four open seats for this year's election. 3 seats are 3 year terms and 1 seat is a 1-year term. 📋CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must be a citizen of the United States 2. Must be at least 18 years of age 3. Must have been a resident of the district for a continuous period of at least 1 year immediately prior to the election 4. Must be able to read and write. 5. Must be the only member of his or her family residing in the same household on the school board ❎CANDIDATE RESTRICTIONS: 1. Must not simultaneously hold an incompatible public office, such as town supervisor 2. Must not be an employee of the district 3. Must not have been removed from a school district office within one year of the election. 4. A person convicted of a felony in New York State is ineligible to seek a seat on the Board if the maximum sentence to which he/she could have been sentenced has not expired or if he/she has not been discharged from parole 🗓If you are interested in running for a seat on the Board of Education the petitions are available at the District Office Monday - Friday (holidays not included) 8:00-4:00 pm. Spirit Night 2024 is coming next week!  Thursday, April 11th @ 5pm High School Gym Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members are welcome to come have fun watching 7th-12th graders compete against each other and staff members!  Admission: FREE - The Spirit Club does strongly encourage everyone to bring a donation for the Granville CSD PTO's Backpacks for Hunger Program. They are in need and it benefits district students. There will be BLUE & GOLD boxes set up - the color with the most food will win the points for that part of the competition.  Concessions will be available.  April 11th will also be BLUE & GOLD Day in all three schools! Have fun with it, show your school spirit!  T-shirts - We have a new t-shirt design this year! $15 per shirt. Limited supply. Sales start Tuesday in the main office. Parents are welcome to buy shirts as well. We will have last year's shirts for sale at the event as well.  The Spirit Club would like to fill the gymnasium with Blue & Gold and have as much fun as possible! New York Ag Literacy Week is a program through New York Agriculture in the Classroom. FFA Members help promote literacy in the field of agriculture through reading a state chosen book and completing an activity in elementary classrooms across the state. This year's book was "I Love Strawberries" by Shannon Anderson. Granville FFA had 20 student volunteers who read to a record 487 students over the 2 days at GES and MJT. This opportunity helps the FFA members through honing their public speaking skills, on top of bringing accurate and up to date agricultural knowledge to the younger students. https://newyork.agclassroom.org/programs/literacy/

Johanna and David from Fort Ticonderoga brought the program "A Soldier's Life" to our third graders last week. The presentation taught the students about the soldiers daily life and what kind of hardships the soldiers faced during the Revolutionary War. Students were able to use their five senses on some of the unique items that they brought to our school.

On Tuesday, March 26th at 6:00 pm in our High School Auditorium we will be holding our annual bridging night for our 6th graders. This is an informational night meant to help prepare for the transition to the Junior High School. The presentations will cover things like the daily schedule, academics, extracurricular opportunities, tours, upcoming transition events, and more. Students and parents should attend the event.

Next week will kick off our our PTO sponsored MJT & GES spirit week! Here are the list of days below: Monday: The Cat in the Hat Day! - Wear your favorite hat. Tuesday: Froggy Plays Soccer Day! - Wear your favorite sports attire. Wednesday: My Many Colored Days Day! - Wear as many colors as you can. Thursday: Llama, Llama Red Pajama Day! - Wear your favorite pajamas. Friday: If I Ran the Zoo Day! - Wear a shirt with an animal on it.
