The Weekly Update from Granville Schools - 5/15/26

An Update Regarding Granville Elementary Leadership
Dear GES Families,
As we move into the final months of the school year, I am writing to share an update regarding our leadership team. Principal Ten Eyck will be concluding her time with Granville at the end of June as she transitions to a new position in another district.
While we are sad to see her leave, we are grateful for the dedication, care, and hard work she has invested in our students, staff, and school community. We wish her all the best in this next chapter and look forward to celebrating the remainder of the school year together and finishing strong at GES.
I understand that Ms. Ten Eyck has been a steady and trusted presence for many of our families and staff. Please know that our priority remains maintaining the stability, support, and positive environment that our students experience each day.
We have already posted the principal opening, and our search process will be thorough and intentional. We are committed to finding a leader who not only demonstrates excellence but is also the right fit for the Granville community and the GES team. While we recognize that this comes later in the hiring cycle, we will not rush the process or settle for just any candidate. Our focus is on finding the best long-term fit for our students, staff, and families.
We will continue to keep you informed as the search progresses. Thank you for your continued support of our students, our staff, and our school community.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Hall

We are entering the final two months of the school year and it can be an extra busy time for families and students. Here are three school family routines to help you feel calm, organized and ready for school, work and life. Go Horde!

Tomorrow, Friday, April 17th is the last day to register your student for the PTO Color Run that takes place on Sunday, May 17th at 10 AM. All age students and Granville Community welcome. Here is the link to sign up:
https://forms.gle/p2PSvQteGXRiwRHR7
What is the Color Run? Spend a Sunday afternoon running/walking at GES at the PTO Color Run. Students/families participating will go through "color stations" where you receive a gentle spray of washable color. It's messy and fun! $20 per entry includes: tshirt, sunglasses, wristband, temporary tattoos, and face paint. Register three and get the fourth free!

We are less than one week away from state testing. As always, thank you for your continued support in helping our students feel prepared, confident, and ready to do their best.
Parent Pick-Up Reminder:
If you plan to pick up your child instead of having them ride the bus, please send in a note indicating they will be a walker or parent pick-up. The earlier we receive this information, the smoother the dismissal will be for everyone.
Opt-Out Information:
If you are choosing to opt your child out of state assessments, please keep the following in mind:
Written Notification: Please send in a letter indicating your decision to opt out and specify which assessments (Math, ELA, and/or Science).
Attendance: Students who have opted out should not attend school on half-day testing days.
Testing Locations (General Education):
The locations below are for students without accommodations. Students with accommodations will test in alternate locations throughout the building to best support their needs.
Grade 3 – Cafeteria
Grade 4 – Gym (split)
Grade 5 – Gym (split)
Grade 6 – Band Room
We appreciate your partnership in making this a smooth and positive experience for all students. Let’s continue to be safe, kind, respectful, and responsible and #BeGolden throughout testing!
