Good Afternoon GES Community, I would like to ask that you join me in welcoming Mr. Dan Poucher to GES as our new Interim Principal. For those of you who do not know Mr. Poucher, he is our retired Assistant Principal at the Jr/Sr High. Mr. Poucher is a longtime Granville staff member who has been active in our community for many years. Mr. Poucher will be with us for the remainder of the 23-24 school year. Schools must ensure that students have equitable digital access to the internet and to electronic devices by surveying the school community each fall. The results must then be reported to the state. Good afternoon, Please be advised that after a review of the new GES schedule on Friday, it has become apparent that some additional elements require attention. Those elements have been addressed, but the teachers and support staff have yet to have the opportunity to review them and provide feedback. Therefore, the intended schedule rollout for Monday will be placed on hold until that can happen. Though the MJT schedule is finalized and ready for Monday, it is linked to the GES schedule and, therefore, cannot be rolled out independently. As has been said all along, this is a work in progress, and there will be continued adjustments along the way. Your continued support is appreciated as we work through these final elements. Advance notice will be provided when the new elementary schedule goes into effect. Have a wonderful weekend

The Granville Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay this morning.

Save the Date! PTO Movie Night at GES 6-8pm on Fri, 1/26. Free! Children must be in attendance with a parent or guardian, thank you! The PTO will be serving free popcorn and please bring a water bottle. Chairs will be available for adults and kids can get cozy on the floor. The Granville CSD Community Cardio Room opens on Monday, January 22nd! The room will be open Monday - Thursday 5pm-8pm The entrance is on the side of the building in the Bus loop area across from the bike rack. It is the entrance without the ramp. There are waiver forms and a sign in sheet at the entrance. This room is for our community members, our walking program in the High School is still going on as well.

Good morning, There will be no homework club at Granville Elementary after school today, January 18th. Students in the homework club will be released at the normal release time. Thank you

Reminder: Mary J Tanner & Granville Elementary Students do not have school on Friday, January 12th there is a Superintendent's Conference Day. Jr/Sr High School Classes are in session. The High School Conference Day is March 8th.

The Granville Central School has been notified that parents are receiving text messages or phone calls claiming to be Mr. McGurl, Superintendent, requesting donations for gift cards to gift to faculty. This is a scam, the district would never request donations in this manner. If you are contacted please do not respond.

The School Calendar was updated at the Board of Education Meeting on Monday evening. Grades PreK - 6th will have their 4th and final Superintendent's Day on Friday, January 12th. What a great start to our Winter Concert season! Thursday evening the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade chorus and the 6th grade band put on a great performance for a packed auditorium! They did an amazing job & should be proud. Friday afternoon the third graders not only performed for their families and friends, but the performance was also live streamed to one of our local nursing homes! Their energy and singing was just what we needed to kick off this month! Our winter concert season starts this week! Join us on Thursday, December 7th at 6:30pm in the High School Auditorium for our Elementary Band & Chorus Concert. Third Grade will have a concert at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 8th at Granville Elementary. Hope to see you there!

The Coins For Christmas Fundraiser will be occurring through 12/8/23. For anyone interested you may bring in any spare change. Collection boxes are located in the main office. Funds collected will be donated to the Operation Santa Program.

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up for MJT & GES families! December 4th will be a full day of conferences - no school for MJT & GES students. December 11th will be a half day of conferences, students released early. Contact your child's teacher for a conference time.
